                                                 박노해

     그가 다시 돌아오면
     계엄의 밤이 도래하겠지
     번득이는 총구가 우리를 겨누고
     의인들과 시위대가 ‘수거’되겠지
     광장과 거리엔 피의 강이 흐르고
     사라진 가족과 친구를 찾는
     언 비명이 하늘을 뒤덮겠지 

 

     그가 다시 돌아오면
     살림은 얼어붙고 경제는 파탄나겠지
     우린 갈수록 후진국으로 추락하겠지
     오가는 사람도 드문 스산한 밤거리엔
     총소리 군홧발 소리 사이렌 소리가 울리고
     계엄군이 내 가방을 뒤지고 신상을 털겠지 

 

     그가 다시 돌아오면
     남북이 충돌하고 전쟁이 돌아오겠지
     자위대가 상륙하고 미군이 연합하고
     긴 내전과 숙청의 날들이 이어지겠지
     숨어있던 친일파들이 나라를 팔아먹고
     광복 80년 만에 이 땅은 다시 빛을 잃겠지 

 

     그가 다시 돌아오면
     모든 방송과 언론과 유튜브에선
     검열된 이슈와 재미와 조작으로
     눈과 귀를 가리며 관심을 돌리겠지
     김건희의 국빈 행사와 일상을 띄워대며
     패션과 미담의 화제거리로 도배되겠지 

 

     그가 다시 돌아오면
     자유도 민주도 선거도 의회도 삭제되겠지
     빛을 들고 나선 이들이 샅샅이 색출되고
     단 몇 줄 올린 글로 검은 제복이 찾아오겠지
     너 좌빨이지, 불순분자지, 완장을 찬 극우대의
     광기 어린 폭력에 숨도 못 쉬겠지 

 

     아아 그가 다시 돌아오면,
     저들이 살아서 돌아오면, 

 

     버젓이 권좌에 도사린 채
     내란을 지속하고 내전을 불지르는 자들 

 

     지금, 빛으로 끌어내 처단하지 않는다면
     지금, 뿌리째 뽑아내 청산하지 않는다면

If He Comes Back

If he comes back, 
the night of martial law will come,
glimmering guns will be aimed at us,
the righteous and demonstrators will be ‘picked up,’ 
rivers of blood will flow in the squares and streets,
the screams of people searching for their missing family and friends
will fill the sky.

 

If he comes back,
life will freeze and the economy will collapse,
we will fall further and further into being an underdeveloped country.
In the dreary night streets where few people come and go
gunshots, military boots, and sirens will ring out,
martial law soldiers will search my bag and raid my personal identity.

 

If he comes back, 
South and North will clash and war will return,
Japanese Self-Defense Forces will land and the US military will join forces,
the days of long civil war and purges will continue,
hidden pro-Japanese collaborators will sell out the country,
after 80 years from Liberation, this land will lose its light again.

 

If he returns,
all broadcasts, media, and YouTube will
cover our eyes and ears with censored issues, fun, manipulation,
and divert our attention
by highlighting Kim Gun-hee’s state guest events and daily life,
painting them with topics of fashion and good stories.

 

If he returns,
freedom, democracy, elections, and the National Assembly will all be abolished.
Those who have come forward to bring light will be thoroughly identified
and black uniforms will come for just a few lines of writing.
You are a leftist, a subversive, you will not be able to breathe 
due to the mad violence of the far-right wearing armbands.

 

Ah, if he returns,
if they return alive,

 

those who are blatantly sitting on the throne,
continuing rebellion and inciting civil war.

 

If we do not drag them out to the light and punish them now,
if we do not uproot them and liquidate them now.
